Welcome Week is a Nation-wide celebration highlighting the cultures, traditions, and contributions of residents who make York and York County and around the world a welcoming place to live, work, learn, and thrive.
Throughout the week, residents, families, community organizations, youth, local leaders, and partners will come together for events that promote inclusion, cultural understanding, community relationships, and opportunities for connection.

York Events
September 11 – 2nd Latino Friday Celebration: Join us for the 2nd Latino Friday Celebration, a family-friendly community event celebrating Latino culture, heritage, music, food, and traditions in the heart of downtown York. September 12 – Passing the Torch Community Games: The Passing the Torch Community Games is a unique community-building event designed to strengthen relationships between young people, law enforcement officers, and community leaders through teamwork, recreation, and positive interaction. When and Where: 1:00pm – 5:00pm at Arthur J. Glatfelter YMCA (downtown York), 90 N. Newberry Street, York, PA 17401
September 16 – Teen Cultural Jam: The Teen Cultural Jam is an evening dedicated to celebrating youth leadership, creativity, and cultural diversity. When and Where: 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Martin Library, 159 E. Market Street, York, PA 17401
September 17 – Human Relations Commission Annual Celebration: The Human Relations Commission Annual Celebration recognizes individuals, organizations, and community partners whose work promotes inclusion, equity, respect, and positive relationships throughout York. When and Where: 5:00pm – 9:00pm at Valencia Ballroom, 142 N. George Street, York, PA 17401
September 18 – Esperanza Hope for the Future Counseling Services Grand Opening. When and Where: 1:00pm – 5:00pm at Esperanza Hope for the Future Counseling Services, 203 E. Philadelphia Street, York, PA 17401
