Welcome to YMCA of the Roses Affordable Housing

Our mission is to create new beginnings for men who were formerly without housing and for low-income families by providing safe, stable, and affordable housing throughout York City.

Men’s Residence:

The YMCA of the Roses Men’s Residence includes 120 SRO (single-room occupancy) units, with 114 leased rooms and 6 emergency shelter rooms. The residence is located on the 300 block of West Philadelphia Street. Each resident has a private room including a Bedframe and Mattress, Desk, Dresser, Closet, and a window with a blind. Each floor includes a communal kitchenette, restroom and shower facilities, and laundry access. On-site staff are available 24 hours a day. Applicant Requirements Qualifying applicants must provide the following: *State ID/ Driver’s License * Social security card * Proof of income (2 months)

Low-Income Rental Units:

YCDC Apartments

YCDC Apartments include 31 one, two, and three-bedroom units located above storefronts on the

200 and 300 blocks of West Market Street and West King Street in York City. Features and Utilities Residents have access to on-call maintenance and appliances, including a refrigerator and stove. Water, sewer, and trash are included in the rent. Tenants are responsible for electric service.

Historic Fairmount Apartments

Historic Fairmount Apartments are in Victorian-style homes on the 300 and 400 blocks of North Beaver Street. The community includes 38 one, two, and three-bedroom units.

Features and Utilities Residents have access to on-call maintenance, an on-site laundry facility, and appliances, including a refrigerator and gas stove. Water, sewer, and trash are included in the rent. Tenants are responsible for electric and gas service.

George Street Commons

George Street Commons includes 28 townhomes located at the corner of George Street and College Avenue. Features and Amenities Residents have access to on-call maintenance, off-street parking, and a community room. Each townhome includes a washer, dryer, refrigerator, dishwasher, and stove. All utilities are included in the rent.
